COURAGE:
HOW CAN I OVERCOME MY FEARS?
6”Be strong and courageous, because
you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their forefathers to
give them. 7. Be strong and very
courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not
turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever
you go. 8. Do not let this Book of
the law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may
be careful to do everything written it .Then you will be prosperous and
successful. 9. Have I not commanded
you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for
the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go. “Joshua 1:1-9 NIV
“You
need a clear vision to begin every journey to success; you also need courage to
reach your destination.” Sam Oye
Courage is the ability
to face danger, difficulty, uncertainty, and pain without being overcome by
fear or being deflected from your chosen course of action. It is the ability to
SAY and DO the right thing, despite the prevailing threats. It is the capacity
to steadfastly pursue a dream, goal or vision because GOD has instructed you to
do so. It is the capacity to steadfastly pursue a dream, goal or vision because
GOD has instructed you to do so. It is also called “staying power” or “audacity.”
Ernest Hemingway once said that courage is, “grace under pressure.” Similarly the
Greeks, in particular, equate courage with the strength of mind that is, “capable
of conquering whatever threatens the attainment of the highest good.” Friedrich
Nietzsche defines courage as “the self which surpasses itself”
Courage will enable you
to overcome opposition, intimidation and cause you to accomplish the
unimaginable: it will make you “walk on waters “open strange doors of
opportunities, take beyond the limits that life has placed on you, make you
stand out amongst your equals, and overcome perceived human impossibilities.
Courage is the ability
to recognize your fears and disregard their threats. Courageous people move
against their fears. “There is within you, waiting to be called, a great source
of power called courage.
Call its name and it will
give you the strength to overcome fear and uncertainty and the heart to
continue with bold confidence despite the pain of disappointment and even
tragedy, “said, Michael Josephson. Fear will always come to stop you on your
way to fulfilling your God-inspired goals therefore, you need the courage to

dream or vision into your heart, Satan will like to inject fear into your mind.
You must learn to take your fear to God in prayers. Take the promise of God and
confess them over yourself and over your desired expectations. Once you have
the peace of God in your heart, step out with the promise of God and victory
will be yours.
