The Tribute!

...What will it be in your own case? ‎

Will anyone ever say this to the people at your funeral "if you didn't meet this person, you missed out on something in life"‎?

Will your Pastor/Priest be the one to say the last blessings on your remains or one will be hired because you are not affiliated to any Church?

Will the pastor/Priest find it difficult saying any good thing about you, or even saying something at all?

If you don’t belong anywhere, who will organize a service of songs/tribute/memorial for you?

If you do belong to one now, have you made any impact that will be felt when you are gone? ‎

Will people attend your wake keep/candle light procession/service of songs/funeral because of your family or because they knew you and believe they owe you that respect for making an impact in their lives?

If at your funeral they ask everyone whose lives have been touched by you in one way or the other to come out, how many people will step out?

I bet you are wondering why I am asking all these questions, well am going to tell you why. I attended a service of songs some weeks back organized for a member of my church who passed away recently, I never knew this man one on one or even from a distance, I didn’t get the chance to be part of his existence, but I had an opportunity to share in his life’s story.

This man had no mansion, no latest car or companies to his name, what he had was a good heart, testimonies upon testimonies coming from the mouth of those he touched positively kept pouring in.

The moment that broke me most was when the pastor asked those whose lives have been touched by this one man to come out, that was when I knew that so many people have lost the point of existing, and only a few practice the essence of life. If a man without physical assets that can perish within a minute can touch such number of lives within such a short time he lived on earth; lives that will in turn birth generations! Then it is not too early for you and me to start.  You don't need to be a multimillionaire to leave a treasure in people's hearts. ‎

Have you asked yourself what will be written on your Epitaph?  Shortly after you leave the earth, whether people will cry or not depends on how you impacted their lives.

As you are here now alive, who is even remembering you? If people can't remember you now that you are alive, they won't remember you when you are gone.
  • Purpose is not ambition, achievements or awards because you can have all those and still not believe in purpose.
  •  Purpose is all about people, not a fancy car, a big mansion or a fat bank account, and as our faces are different, so are our purposes.
  • Purposes are time bound; take an example from a market place, some people's goods are meant to be sold in the morning and they leave before 9am ( i.e. pap/ bean cake sellers), some leave the market before 12pm, some leave last because their products demands they leave at that time. If you don’t do what you need to do at the time you should, you will miss out.
  • Purpose decides longevity; how long you will live is determined by the assignment you are sent here to carry. ‎
  • Never be afraid of death, what you should be afraid of is dying without a purpose.

Don't be caught in death pursuing the latest cars and material acquisition.

Some people die physically at 20 but still live in remembrance till they are 80+, while some die at 80 and are never remembered.

Don’t forget this is Easter, a season where Jesus’ death and resurrection is celebrated all over the world; Jesus lived for just 33 years on earth but is being celebrated and remembered 2000 years and more after.

If I should ask, if everyone was born with a purpose, why did God allow those children under 2 years during the time when Jesus was born to be killed before they had an opportunity to know their purpose?

If you think critically, you will realize that their purpose on earth was to engage the soldiers who were looking for Jesus so they can buy enough time for Jesus to escape. In other words, they carried out their purposes effectively at age 2.

“Purpose is a mystery; don’t measure its effectiveness by duration” _ Sam Oye

Even in death, Mr Deji touched my life, go out there and make impacts people and don’t forget to have a HAPPY EASTER CELEBRATIONS!!!

In loving memory of Mr Deji Tewogbade and David Obi Nwizu ‎
