12 SECRETS FOR PERSONAL TRANSFORMATION (PART III)

VISION: WHAT DO I WANT TO SEE?
“Where there is no vision, the people cast off restraint…” Proverbs 29:18 (ASV)
“Where there is no vision [no redemptive revelation of God], the people perish…” Proverbs 29:18 (AMP)

What you are seeing today must never stop you from creating what you would want to see in the future. Vision is the ability to develop a mental picture of the kind of future you would want to have. It is a divine revelation of God’s intentions concerning your future destination. Vision is the capacity to stand in your actuality (what is) and see your possibilities (what can be). Once you know who you are and why you are here on earth, you must then receive or create a clear mental picture of what you would want to see in your life, your family, community or nation.

If you don’t like what you are seeing in your life today, take some time out to receive a new vision from God. Someone once said that, “dissatisfaction and discouragement are not caused by the absence of things but the absence of vision.” God gives you visions in order to unveil or reveal your destiny functions and life operations here on earth. It enables you to live a life of impact and become a person of influence here on earth.

You can receive your vision through the Word of God, the Holy Spirit, Meditation, Imagination, Night Vision, Information and lots more. Some visions may come in a supernatural, spiritual, spectacular or natural way. How a vision is received is not as important as what you do with the vision. Turning your vision into reality is what makes you different from others who have visions but end as failures.
According to Thomas Edison, “vision without execution is hallucination.”

In order to know what to do with the vision you have received, the Bible gives some basic recommendations in Habakkuk 2:2-3 (Amp):
“2 And the Lord answered me and said, Write the vision and engrave it so plainly upon tablets that everyone who passes may [be able to] read [it easily and quickly] as h hastens by. 3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time and it hastens to the end [fulfillment]; it will not deceive or disappoint. Though it tarry, wait [earnestly] for it, because it will surely come; it will not be behindhand on its appointed day.”

Once you receive a vision, kindly consider taking the following steps:

  • ·        Write it down

  • ·        Print it out

  • ·        Rehearse it out

  • ·        Work it out

  • ·        Review it always

There are several reasons why you need a vision. Here are some of them:

  • Vision will guide you: it will define your steps and direct your path
  • Vision will govern you: it will dominate your thinking  and direct your affairs
  • Vision will grow you: it will develop character in you
  •  Vision will guard you: it will direct you and keep you from detours or distractions
  •  Vision will galvanize you: it will drive you from within to overcome limitations around you
  •  Vision will garnish you: it will decorate your life with honor

A visionless life is full of confusion, frustration, depression and speculation. Without vision, energy, resources, and life will be wasted. While vision is the force behind individuals and nations that have risen from nothing to something, it cannot be adequately replaced because it is the force behind distinction.
